help.... new engine + cold start problems

Post by zhong »

hey guys, need help here

got my new mivec engine installed, but there seems to be something wrong with some sensors (probably).

on cold start, it revs up to around 2000 rpm and dies.
tried couple of times, didn't work.

tried again, this time, i held down the accelerator (kept it around 1500 rpm) until the engine's a bit warm and it works alright.

when the engine's warm. turned it off and started it again, it revs up to around 2000 rpm, went to 300 (at this time, the engine almost died and one light flashed from the left hand side indicators. if i wasn't wrong, it was the third one from top) then it goes back up to idle (900 rpm)

hooked up snap-on computer and i got 2 error messages :x
1. tps out of range
2. injector circuit sensor

got no ideas, anyone had the same problems before????

hey,

So you've recently had a new engine put in? Might be worthwhile going back to the workshop that did it ...

Where are you from? someone may be able to give you the number of a good FTO mechanic..

I could take a stab at the cause of the prob, but chances are I don't know what I'm on about... so I will leave it up to someone else for now ...

could be heaps of stuff.

What u have described sounds like the Stepper motor. Do a serach there is a recent thread on where it is and how to clean it. Its a 10min job and worth a look.
