sick car :-(

Post by aza013 »

I just went to go for a drive to a mates house and got ten mins from home when the car started to bog down under power and blow smoke :( turned into a servo and went to check out the probles.
the car then stalls I went to restart it, it was cranking but would not start and then nothing
the battery is fine, I am thinking I may have done a pissten :?: :? due to how it stopped cranking over, but not 100% any one got any ideas :?:
I had to get a tow back home
any help will be great thanks

Sounds like a symptom you get when you have a faulty stepper motor.

When you crank it to start, did you give it a light throttle to see if it will crank over?

it may not be pisstons the more I think about it as there was no scrapping noises :? could be aultenater but there was no battery light :?

blue smoke normally means burning oil, perhaps you've lost a ring?

had a little look around the beast today every thing looks ok externall so it has to be internall.
I am thinking that to manofwood and then when it will not turne over now may be a piston has gone as well  if so looks like a rebuild I did want to get it worked to a 2.2L - 2.4L so may get the chance to now.
will have to see what happens when I get it opened up

it was LOL but its 10 years old something has to go sooner or latter
what S**TS me more is that I have never really given it a hard time :(
I give it a hit of power every now and then but not all the time.
and when it went bad I was only driving it like a granny

Ouch, that sucks so much Aza. Sorry dude :( Hope it ain't too expensive to fix.

I rarely hold back on my car...but she gets some major tlc. Full synth oil every 5000kms with nulon additives and full warm up and cool down procedures. She's still running healthy as ever... no loss of power/response from interval dyno tests. a lot of engines can actually be thrashed quite hard and live a long healthy life, just gotta show tlc in maintenance and warm up/cool down.

so if all gos well I may be on the road again tomorrow afternoon fingers crossed :D
