Mate...I just slide mine in...never took out the needles (heard stories about needles not working properly afterwards)...

by the way...might be silly question....did u take out the whole cluster to fit the new dials?? if not...u might be out of space...

I've read somewhere about using spoons to gently lever them off Sammi.

Good luck. The last time I looked I think Dstocks has a few different instructions on his site.

You cant slide the origional ones off - you need to cut them. But make sure the new ones are what you want as you cant go back!

The new ones will slide one, you then stick them down.

DO NOT PULL OFF THE NEEDLES!

do not take off the needles and you dont need to. You will get no light through unless you take off the origionals

I have done it over 5 or 6 times and on more than 3 FTOs.

white ones dont slide on lol the circle in the middle is the same as the old ones.. to small.. there is no possible way. :( omg i suck so back.

Where the needle is. The black cap that is in the midde of your dial does that need to be popped off? ive tried but dont want to try to hard or i will break it haha..

EDIT:

PIC EXPLAINING WHAT I MEAN (p.s these aint my dials i wish haha)

Image
the caps circled in red.. they need to come off in order for me to slide it on yes?

If you are 100% sure that they don't slide over, then they are probably the older style of dials.... in which case the needles do have to be taken off. Didn't think anyone made them any more though.

Use 2 teaspoons on either side of the black dial centre, and lever up both sides at the same time. Can be stiff, but they do pop off.

You can screw up your dials very easily, so be VERY careful, espeically putting the needles back on. Don't push them back in too far. Good luck!
If you can't dazzle them with dexterity, baffle them with bull...

Thats correct if they are the old ones you do need to take the needles off...I havent seen any of these floating about for a while.

The plus slide of these is that you dont get any light shining through the middle like the slide on versions.

Just got EL dials, easier and better anyway.

lol Ebay...the joys
