Slight loose front bumper

Post by Cousin »

Ok so on the way to work in the morning on the freeway with medium traffic, a truck changes lanes and drives over a ripped up tyre and flings it at my car, couldn’t do anything about it, anyway wasn’t a major hit but still it hit the front bumper and now the right side is a little loose and the screw in hole for the number plate on one side is missing.

Heres some pics of what I mean:

Image
Under the wheel guard a piece is loose

Image
the plastic popper things wont stay in place and the strip of metal is loose

Can i replace that screw in thing? or just use a plastic cable tie

i know its nothing and im making a big deal about nothing but u know i love my car

can i diy and tighten it up or take it somewhere?

OK, clips are not genuine. The genuine ones have a phillips head screw insert in them. The clip your numberplate screw goes into should have a thread on it. Have you stripped the screw or the clip?. With respect to the undershields, they do tend to move around a bitnaturally.

yh after looking at the underbody some bits look pretty flimsy and that bit may have already been like that. i went and got a panel pack with the phillips head design and they went it well. as for the number plate ummm the clip is gone and maybe that wasnt there to begin with as well so for now ive got a cable tie on it.
