problem with immobiliser

just wondering if anyone has had the same problem, My car just wouldnt start one morning doesnt make any nose or anything, it had a small alarm device on the keys, and the machanics couldnt do anything all he knw is the problem is with the immoboliser :(

Yeah then failing that you will have to disconnect the immobiliser.

And bridge the immobilsed circuit, which is usually the starter motor circuit in the steering column (thickish black wire with red stripe.)

I have the same problem sometimes I goto start the car and everything comes on but the engine doesant turn, I then arm the alarm and dissarm it again by the remote and it starts fine.

Once I tried to start my car just and as I did the immobiliser re-armed and it wouldn't start. All the electrics had cut out and I had to disconnect and reconnect the battery. It was fine after that.

When you said everything comes on, does the dash light turns on too?

If it doesn't, then yes, its the immobiliser.

the dash lights turn on and when i turn the key to start the car nothing happens

Is yours a tiptronic?

If yes, try with N, instead of P.


Else, it might be the starter motor.


PS: I had all these issues, and fixed them up, one by one. Except the P and N issue.
