pentium 3 at oldest, but a p4 would be sweet in a dell if it was a small one.

Oh man, you should hang around my curb every now & then. I toss at least 10 of the things a month lol

Had old servers out there last month and some old flatscreens.

The g33ks only ever come out at night, like scavenger squirrels, making funny noises & breathing heavily

I once sprinkled some ram around on the front lawn to see if they were greedy enough to go & pick it all up... they did

I fkn want the lawn ram.

Let me know when you're chucking out stuff again, and I do mean anything, I always have use for hybrid servers and what not.
Never have enough of that stuff.

If you are computer (Linux) savy, may I suggest MythTv. While I am no Linux fanboy, I like it is so much better than Windows Media Centre.

I have been using MythTv for close to 10 years now and I couldn't live without it, even the wife is a big fan. Linux / MythTv will run better on old hardware than MCE also.

The limitations you will find with older hardware is in HD playback and also if you choose MythTv, while I have 2 physical tuner cards, I can record 6 different shows at the same time (1 tuner can record multiple streams on the same multiplex i.e. 1 tuner can record 9, GEM and GO while the other is recording 7, 7mate and 7Two) but this takes its toll on the system. With MythTv, you could set it up across 2 PCs, one takes care of the recorders while the other is the front end, this would be less load on older hardware if you can get twice as much.

Also, make sure you go for digital (DVB-T) tuners and not analog tuners.
Me? Bitter? f**k no. I think it's hilarious.

I have loads of computer parts that I have hoarded lol... heaps of ram, a few old video cards and a tv card, some IDE Hdd's (maybe 1 or 2 sata), few cases, cpu's, cat5 cables, crossover cables, sata cables, maybe some cd drives. I have a power supply for a slimline optiplex which need to have one of the wires soldered back together, but would be perfect for a small media pc. Anyway let me know what u want and I will see if I have got it.
