Basically, my sh*tty Sony Xplod 6x9s that I had in the rear are now officially blown (as if they werent sh*t enough to begin with)
Im now going to be planning out a setup and am looking for suggestions
Im not looking for anything insanely loud to the point where I have to wear earplugs (seen that done before ) I just want something that will have good quality sound and clean bass that wont set me back thousands of dollars.
First off does anyone have any recommendations for rear 6x9s and front speakers? (Not sure of the size of the front, never looked at them) Ive heard good things about precision and clarion. Thoughts? Ill be starting with amps and subs later on when I have some more cash. For now I just want some good front and rear speakers
I fix cars.

Everyone will have their own opinion and you may like something else yourself.
I have Kicker KS6.2 splits speakers in the front and Kicker KS693 6*9 rear speakers in the rear. I love the sound they are producing and they are mid range priced.
Although I have 320 watts going to each speaker (640 watts to the front pair and 640 watts to the rear pair).
They are crystal clear up loud, but my ears are ringing when I shut them down after a while of volume
Best price I found was at http://www.ryda.com.au/

Crystal clear is what im looking for. I dont need to be running like 2 subs and an amp on each for like a million decibels, I just want clean, quality sound at a decent volume
Cheers phil, am looking into it now
Also - what size are the speakers in the front? Not the tweeters, the door speakers?

Well i've had kicker 6x9's amped in the rear for quite some time now and i hadnt had a sub in at the time and passengers have asked if i had a sub.
I also used to have a polk audio splits in the front that sounded pristine, but i put a few too many watts at high volume for a couple of years and blew them
Just remember, get a good headunit or make sure yours is decent at the moment, because with audio.

"sh*t in = sh*t out"
It's a kenwood 50WX4 KDC/MP239 or something. Will double check tomorrow. Dont know much about head units.

Finally I can agree on, kicker all the way. Always preferred it, always will. My rears are like matts, they go hard at any level let alone with a nice kicker sub in the boot

Good Luck

The KS6.2 in my doors are 6", they are a little bit smaller than the stock plastic mounting ring, but I fit them in OK.

Is that for Kicker "KS" range speakers, because I wouldn't go with Kicker "DS" range. There is a big difference in quality.

All I can say is spend the money on good speakers first time around. That way, when you do amp them, you won't have to change the speakers out.
A good head unit goes a long way too. I'm still on the factory HU, but I've had a play with it and gotten it to pump out better quality sound (and LOTS more of it )

I went in to a local car audio store today, had a listen to some really nice Alpine speakers, that where also reasonably priced
I think I have found my new speakers, also the Alpine head units look nice too
