I made some spacers from 3mm (I think) MDF for my 6.5 inch front speakers and the standard grill fits. My rears don't have grills at all, although I think my rear shelf is not the factory one.
You can easily make some spacers yourself if you're handy with MDF!
I made some for my old car out of 3mm (yes, you're correct Supplanter) MDF, and it worked quite well! Just head down to Bunnings and grab yourself a sheet, shouldn't cost you anything more than $30 for what you need!
Thanks guys yea im not really good with wood work. Got all the tools from dads ute at hand. But just waiting for money to buy mdf and Practisw making a sub box. And mess with fiberglass
I'l be putting type r splits in the front. 3mm should be fine??

hey phi, we'll go make a template of the rear parcel shelf cover and cut out a template with a jigsaw and wrap it in black leather with a staple gun. Be easy as.

I used 6mm MDF for my front 6.5" speakers and screwed that onto the original speaker cup then screwed the cup back onto the door. Cost me like $2 in materials tops. Time taken was just over an hour drawing, cutting and screwing.
Speakers were 30mins (thanks to Tim) , straight in and smashed out the honeycomb bit under the grill to allow room for the speakers
