a bit off topic here, but that is a VR wing isnt it aza? i know daniel had a bit of trouble reinforcing it lately - have you reinforced it? or just left it? want to do this myself but not sure if i need to do anything extra than just take the middle pylon out and cover the holes?
Or is the carbon blade strong enough to not need reinforcing etc?
Nice photos btw too - phil your making me want a VS wing

Doesnt look like a vR wing. It may be a vR cross bar but the mounting plates dont look the same, they look more like the VS ones, they curve out slightly.. custom job?Taz wrote:a bit off topic here, but that is a VR wing isnt it aza? i know daniel had a bit of trouble reinforcing it lately - have you reinforced it? or just left it? want to do this myself but not sure if i need to do anything extra than just take the middle pylon out and cover the holes?

You cant just take the middle pylon out. I drove around with mine like that at low speeds (only up to about 60kp/h) and it shakes like a mfer, and it seems like its about to snap off and fly through someone's windshield.
What im planning on doing is running some sort of carbon or fibreglass re-enforcement bar either parallel or perpendicular to the middle bar so that it looks like it's part of it, but not actually mounting it to the boot. I just havent had time or money lately but when I do get around to experimenting a little bit then I'll let you know what seems to work and what doesnt
I fix cars.

Ah yes, upon an actual inspection and not just a skim you are right - its not a VR wing.
Im thinking if you create and extra screw point on either side of the wing and the slap some fiberglass underneath the wing, then wrap it in a carbon vinyl or something similar (or alternatively dont f/g it but just get real cf cloth and wrap it doing it properly) that might stiffen it up enough.
Def's will be a DIY guide up for it though eventually

Yeah that was the plan, although I was thinking of possibly running a fibreglass strip parallel to the wing (i.e. along the longest way along the bottom) to re-enforce the whole thing and not just the centre. Either that or measuring up a custom pillar to attach to the middle, although I like it without the centre post. Yay adventures!Taz wrote:Ah yes, upon an actual inspection and not just a skim you are right - its not a VR wing.

Great pics Phil .
No it's not a VR wing, but I still have the factory VR wing in top condition and boot lid that I may think about parting with if the price is right .
