REVIEW: 7500K HID kit for FTO

well i finally got my HID kit fitted on my car and boy i have to say, it's certainly money well spent.

not only does it give you a nice tinge of blue, it's also very clear and bright and trust me, it does help a lot with the vision, esp at night.

To give you a picture, my high beams were almost just as bright, except it was aimed at a higher angle in a green tinge... This means my HID is just as bright but less glare for oncoming traffic.

What I'm very surprised about as well was the ease of installation, which took less than an 30mins. SCORE!

as soon as my digital camera is sorted, i will attempt to post some pics (unless one of you are interested in organising a 'mini-meet' at night somewhere LoL...)

so for those who are contemplating a HID kit for their car, it's certainly money well spent. Where you get them or who you trust is up to you.

Mike bought the kit from me (see here for more details.

For those conerned about glare towards oncoming drivers, you will get very little glare, as FTOs have a projector headlight housing (far superior to reflectors, of which my car has

Installation will cost you <$70.

Notice wise, I don't need too much notice

as soon as I get full payment I can order it.

sorry, let me elaborate it does help a lot with the vision, esp at night, COMPARED TO NORMAL HALOGEN BULBS FROM THE FACTORY

Hey GPXXX,
Some cars have a very different driving lights, which looks like changing colours (Looks normally pure white, but as soon as the car goes over a hump or something light becomes sparkly blue, green, yellow, white, etc). Very sharp light and great for night time. BMW's have this type of lighting especially.
The new ones use just installed, are they looking like this?

Those Euro cars have that effect because of the projector lens and the light cutoff.
You'll find that it will have that effect slightly, but I don't think it will be as noticeable as in a Euro car with factory HIDs, because from memory the projector lens on the factory HIDs have a slightly different cutoff.

so i was right, i'm looking at ebay now for it, found some around AU$150 for the whole kit! but still have 5 days left to bid

hopfully bid price wont go up by too much then i'll get a pair myself

I have been keeping an eye on HID kits recently on ebay, and most of them seem to go over $400 even though they start low, and I wouldn't trust those cheap ones anyway.

That's right Boris, don't trust those cheap kits. The cheap ones are made in China.

The kit that I am selling, comes with a full 1-year warranty. THe components are made by Hella themselves, in Germany, and rebadged as Xelux (I have seen the blueprints for the design). It might be a bit more expensive, but at least you know that you won't have any problems with it
