Tom's '99 Version R
Hi all! This is my manual '99 Version R - just ticked over 82,000km
Thought I'd start a build thread to keep track of how the car progresses and also to become more involved in the club rather than just lurking
Modlist at the moment:
• Stainless steel extractors, front pipes & a 2.5” mild steel cat back exhaust + Apexi cannon
• ARC air intake box with induction pipe to HKS pod filter
• Cusco adjustable coilovers w/ camber plates
• Mivec controller
• 17x8.5 Wedsport SA70 wheels
Pics:
Now that HSC is done and gone I should make progress to move it along the path of how I vision it - albeit nothing too drastic.
keen to hear people's opinions

Yep seen this car in person at the MCM meet. Real clean car. I suggest putting something between your ARC pipe and battery, or getting a slim battery/using something else to tie it down, otherwise you may scratch your pipe like I did mine.
But aside from that, nice!

The metal tie down has a rubber tube around it at the moment. Not sure if that'd be enough, I'll have to keep my eye on it and potentially put something in between.Daniel2019 wrote:I suggest putting something between your ARC pipe and battery, or getting a slim battery/using something else to tie it down, otherwise you may scratch your pipe like I did mine.
But I'm a P plater? I have to have one don't I? Sounds too good to ditch it atm, but I can definitely see where you're coming from.bjk wrote:Also, get rid of cannon ASAP please.
Sure is! Excited to see how it will turn out.dstocks wrote:Very Nice. And I hear a change is on the cards soon......

Re: Tom's '99 Version R
Not much of an update but a few little things I've done just to tidy it up more to my taste.
Had a go at respraying the callipers red. Reckon it came out alright especially cause I didn't trust myself to be taking the callipers off at this point.
Also did a really ghetto exhaust tuck to prevent it scraping and wobbling using hose clamps to tighten up the rubber exhaust hangers.
Which took it from this (10cm of clearance):
To this (13cm):
Restored the headlights:
Also, replaced a peeling door cup and resprayed the wipers matte black as they were bubbling and rusting..

Careful your exhaust doesn't whack your rear bar or sit up against it.
Nice work!

Yeah its a bit deceiving in that pic, but its well clear and much more rigid now so it doesn't bounce around anymore.Daniel2019 wrote:Careful your exhaust doesn't whack your rear bar or sit up against it.
