Destinationtobys POS Hilux. GONE mods please delete lol
K I'm starting a little build thread on my new car on here, becos the toyota boys are boring
1993 single cab Toyota hilux
replaced the standard 22r motor a 2004 3rz-fe fully forged motor (2.7 efi).
It now has a Garrett gt30-76 turbo bought new
LC engineering mild cam
Front mount intercooler
550cc injectors
Bosch 040 external fuel pump
External waste gate
Boost gauge
Gizzmo MS-IBC multi scramble Boost controller stage one-12psi & stage two-16psi
Haltech Sprint 500 piggy back ECU (this was installed and tuned by Rev Zone in Ringwood
Makes 181kw atw
3in exhaust
hi flow bokka cat
4" spectre Inline air filter with 3in snorkel
Oil filter relocation kit
oil cooler
Dual battery's located under the tray
Main fuel tank 75L
Second tank 55L
UHF radio (will be removed and replaced with a double din stereo)
Jvc head unit
Jvc 6x9s in the doors
Bucket seats from a celica to replace original bench seats
Sound proofed the floor pan and guards with body deadener and new carpet
Centre console out of SR5 Hilux
Custom tray with LED tail lights, also have separate reverse lights as well as side work lights all on separate switches(all HID).
has a custom trap door in the tray for storage
Custom front tube bar with 9000lbs tigerz 11 winch.
5000lbs tigerz winch on the rear
Roll bars
Roo light 180 with 70w HID kit in them
Air horns
Custom sliders
Rear diff rebuilt with true track LSD which completely locks when it starts to slip. its a mechanical LSD not the traditional clutch plate style
Front diff has a lokka diff lock and has been moved forward 35mm to help clear bigger tyres
Adjustable drag link
Adjustable torque rod
Near new EFS 2" suspension lift kit with new bushes and steering dampener.
2" body lift
Low profile cross member
33x12.5 Federal mud tyres
Has the wiring and brackets for a Baja Designs 40in Stealth light bar in the roll bar.(will be purchased when funds allow lol)
Plans:
Not much, as it's had a ton of money put into it allready. Was given over $19000 in receipts from the past 2years..
Will install a small slim line sub and a mono block amp at some stage.
Pretty up the engine bay with a bit of painting, inter cooler piping, rocker cover, manifold etcetc
Lots of speedflow steel braided lines are allready installed, I'll replace the rest with the same.
Might give it some black trim, paint the bullbar and roll bars black, maybe the snorkel aswell.
When these tyres need changing I'm going to buy a different set of (black) rims and wrap them in 35" muddies.
In the process of getting everything engineered on it!!
Oil cooler hose popped off today and pumped out every last drop of oil within 300metres....
The End

Re: Destinationtobys Hilux
Bit of both
Opinions from some of you more mechanically sound folk? I pulled over and turned the car off within 500m of this happening, there was no noises and coolant temp didn't go up..let it sit for half an hour while I went and bought some oil, filled it up and drove home.....Will it be ok? If it might not be ok, will I find out soon enough? Symptoms? Signs of possible damage??? Also turbo is oil cooled yeah?? Possible damage to that aswell???

If you got damage you would hear it.
Rattling bearings, knocking tappets, winding turbos etc.

Re: Destinationtobys Hilux
Yeah she's runnin fine now.
Did some painting, looks abit neater now
Bought some new rotors and a new high flow cat because I didn't pass the emission test that the engineer needs
Changed wastegate gasket and turbo gasket, had small leaks from both.
