One member from Syd got a pair of side indicators for around $300 a pair, & i think is from Unique as well.FTOluv wrote:so how much is it for the front bar and the four set of lights? I couldnt find it on the website. plus postage to Melbourne.
Does it need to be sprayed or is from an actual series 2??
my car is silver.
The kit is copy & need to be prepare & then spray, just like 99% of bodykits out there at the moment.
Why don't u PM/email/ring steve (smorison), he should able to get a better price for u.

Having Just done it there are a few issues.
Correct me if I'm worng but Unique sell a fiberglass copy of a front bumper not an orginal plastic bumper. I got a secondhand orginal. Quite a lot of work to fix up.
1. You will need the mountings of your current bumper and a keen person to fit and modify the mountings.
2. Indicators. Unique sell orginals - orange. Or the cheaper way is to order a set from the current diahatsu Terrios about $150 I think. Clear if you chnage the bulbs and fit really well. Again the mounting are completly different and will need to be custom made.
3. Fog lights. Still looking. May have found some simple ones for $100
4. Parkers. Legally you need them. Working on an LED. Could drill and tap a bulb into main cluster or fog light.
Don't expect much change from $1200.
When I'm done I'll make Stephen Happy and post an article detialing the whole thing and costs. What do you think Stephen?
John.

If you're going to use LEDs you'll need a pretty hefty inline resistor or you'll throw the flasher-can out and it will blink very quickly.Spankmebandit wrote:4. Parkers. Legally you need them. Working on an LED.

Yeah if it wasn't the cost, i guess theres lots of ppl in this forum would change it to the series 2 bumper. Theres still few other alternative (apart from Veilside), u just have to b little bit more creative.FTOluv wrote:geez, i thought the front bar of the series 2 would be a reasonable alternative to the veilside. wouldnt of imagined costing $1200![]()
and most work done by yrself as well

Check out GPXXX & INDYFTO, & u know what i mean

Parkers don't flash. But yes you need to ensure that you wire the LEDs correctly with the correct resister to stop them burning out instantly.ruchi wrote:If you're going to use LEDs you'll need a pretty hefty inline resistor or you'll throw the flasher-can out and it will blink very quickly.Spankmebandit wrote:4. Its the lights and extra fitting work that is the killer. How much would a veilside front bar cost? The genuine bar would be much more then this conversion. What does a fiberglass copy cost painted and fitted?

I know a place in Melbourne that can source driving lights that will fit on the version R bumper for a tad less than $200 fitted (from memory...) they are not OEM items but the size will fit nevertheless...
I'll be using complete aftermarket set of lights (indicator & driving lights) on my modified version-R bumper - in a few weeks we will see how it looks like. Stay tuned.
