The longer shaft has a small boot like thing thing that I couldn't stretch the boot over though. And yeah the 2nd one I didn't have to

The thing in on the long shaft is a balance weight i believe.

A couple of questions
I've only got one hand, as my finger is fractured thanks to the stupid auto box.. But I'm still attempting to do some little things no pun
First picture. Have I put the release bearing on properly? Is the little metal wire clip thing on the right way?
In the second pic next to the old bearing is a washer, that has appeared with the gearbox where does it go? Behind the bearing or something?
And last one, for today... Is are these selector cables up the right way???

Thrust bearing looks correct. Just make sure you give the arm a whack in the middle where it sits on the pivot ball, make sure it's on one properly. You don't want to get the box back on the then find that's fallen in... *nightmare memories*

No idea what that weird bearing is, never seen one.

Hard to tell with the cables, it will sit 90 degrees to what it is now, when on top of the box. You'll know if you've fucked it up, one is longer than the other. Test the gear stick once you've bolted it to the box.

Oh & f**k buying an alignment tool. Just do it by eye. Lightly do up the flywheel bolts, get on your hands & knees (lol!) and look directly in line with the centre of the clutch, align it as needs be, then nip up the pressure plate bolts all the way.

You wont be able to get the box on!

Ben can you tell me what goes on behind the the flywheel? The pair on the right or left? And in what order ? I'm guessing you would be one to remember if anyone??

LOL you really need to slow down & take some notes on what you're doing mate. Either that or download the f#cken manual

It's the set on the left you want. The 2 on the right are for the auto, the big one was the one that used to connect to the torque converter. You removed it, remember?

Of the two on the left, the part with the raised inner ring (lol) faces the gearbox side. Other bit goes in behind it.

Yeh I just wasn't sure what one to use because it didn't explain it in the manual. Thanks man

got the clutch on, snapped off the first two bolts when puting on the cover so didnt even bother trying the rest.. might just give up on life now
torque settings were right, 44nm. i wasnt nipping em up or anything eithr, they both had a couple turns to go.. nfi idea why i fail so much at doing up bolts lol

So you only put 2 in then started tightening them up? So essentially, you've preloaded 2 little bolts with the entire force of the pressure plate pushing against them. No wonder they broke. It's not about the torque you put on them, its the tensile stress. Ie, you've pulled them apart like you would rip open a xmas cracker.

Pro tip: Put them ALL in and start nipping them up like you would (sorry, are supposed to) wheels nuts, nip one up, go to the other side, nip another up, go back to the other side, pick another one & nip it up, go back over etc etc.

i tightened all of them with a ring spanner and then i started with the torque wrench, they snapped so easily, no joke.
i will video it how weak they are tommorow, they could be the wrong bolts :/
but something's definitely up with them.

Or they could have been used & overtightened in the past...

Any chance you know the name/size of the bolts bennoz?

Take a good one to a nut and bolt shop

Good luck with that, No joke, i needed to get genuine flywheel bolts cause there such an unusual size. This sorta thing you may need to go to mitsubishi for unfortunately.
