A little bit of womanly advice here Schumie, having used those vacuum bags, they do not vacuum without wrinkles, this could leave you with problems as far as wrinkes in the material is concerned. If there was a way to vacuum it slowly and work the wrinkes out as you go, great, but they just suck straight in...

Anyhooz just thought I'd share..

Dont have the answer sorry, but if it were me I'd pay the extra $ and get it done professonally. From memory in the last group buy someone was quoted around $100 per door. Sounds a lot but a least it will look professional..

It is very easy to do the doors, only one section is tricky that is the place you rest your elbow.
because ithas a sharp corner, it is hard to stick the material to the door. What I did was to focus this section first. Put the contact adhesive on, make sure to use heatgun or hair dryer to heat the glue first. Then get yourself a plastic bag full of sand/water. Stick the material to the door. Keep pressing it down with your hand for a while, use the heat gun to heat the material again, then stick the plastic bag on it. Leave it for a full day. Then do the rest.

Guys,

I have couple of good news.

First of all, production is due to be finished this weekend.

Secondly, I have been working hard to organise a quicker way for postage.
This is due to the reason that slow ship will take around 3 weeks to Melbourne, then have to wait for the customs. And I keep hearing that customs are very slow these days due to everything is getting monitor against security risks, add the busy period of Christmas and New year on top of it. Once the customs cleared, then of course I have to post to you guys, so another week on top of everything. According to this scenario doenst really look possible to receive the covers this year.

However, as I said, I have been working hard looking for alternatives, and here is the good news.

I can organise Fedex Airmail straight to your house, this way shipment will take only 3 days, and no need to wait for customs, and me posting etc...

Here are the rules and pricing.
- Everybody has to agree on this. It will be all either Fedex or slow ship.
- This requires additional payment of AUS$48 per a set of seat covers to cover the additional cost of Fedex
- You will receive the seat covers upto 4-6 weeks earlier
- Where possible the covers will be stated as gift and the value will be shown minimal to eleminate any customs cost may occur for the buyer.
- Buyers need to supply full name and open address to me asap.
- NZ buyers SchumieFan and Grue no need to pay any extra, as you have paid the postage cost already. This will be transfered to FedEx.

Lets discuss please.

I'd pay the extra, but i guess it comes down to what the declared value on the items will be,(I think it's value of item including postage costs) and if they get slugged by customs.

Just glanced through this thread in whirlpool....
http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-re ... 153493&p=1
and found this
Basically:

If posted via USPS (Postal service):
<$275 = Nothing, nill, zilch.
$275-$1,000 = + 10% GST + Applicable Customs Duty (0% or 5%)
>$1000 = $47.38 (Customs processing fee) + 10% GST + Applicable Customs Duty

n.b. $275 (inc postage) is the safe limit for a 5% duty good, closer to $500

If posted via UPS/FedEx (Courier)
<$250 = $47.38 (Customs processing fee)
>$250 = $47.38 (Customs processing fee) + 10% GST + Applicable Customs Duty

Moral of the story: use *POSTAL SERVICE*.
Can anyone elaborate on how we should go about this....my head hurts..lol

Declared value is the value of the item posted. Postage cost should not be included.
US$25 will be declared to eleminate or minimise the customs cost, if it ever incurrs

I hate to be a spoil sport but im ok with waiting as im in no hurry to get these, in fact if anyone wants to take my place in the group buy then they can. I need a new mp3 player for the car because my current one is dieing. FYI i got the black on black with blue stitching.

But if no one wants my spot and everyone else is in ill chip in the extra to get it early.
