Thanks for the tips guys. I'll take this back to my blog now rather than hack Bens.

contiuned from Bens blog...
Thanks to Supplanter I've found this topic
viewtopic.php?f=22&t=3834&hilit=+turbo
which tells me that the engine is running stock internals. This is very good to know because up until now, I wasn't sure.
Envy was sure that it must have had forged internals because when I first took it to him it was running so lean that it should have blown up. He'd never seen a stock engine run so lean and no blow up. 1-0 to Mitsubishi.
So I'll ring around and get some estimates on reconditioning the turbo (thanks to Bennoz for the numbers). As for getting it to the repairers, is it easy to take off? Is it really an AJ kind of a job?
Do any evo's run a T28? I might be able to source one fairly cheaply (~$500)
When I got the exhaust made, they were very nervous about the heat because the size of the pipes going to the turbo and out was getting close to the fuel lines. They suggested moving the fuel filter and heat shielding as much as I could. This would be another DIY day job.
It would be great to get as much as this done ready for the bonfire in April.

I suggest if you are pulling out your turbo do the fuel filter re location then (as per my phone call)

If the relocation of the fuel filter happens on a DIY day, could get a hand in doing the same for mine?

I reckon so too! Make that a Fuel Filter Relocation DIY Day!! I've been told im running rich since black smoke is seen from my exhaust and my mileage of daily commutes only go as far as 450, so maybe those things are fuel filter problems... Im eager to see the innards of my fuel filter though!
Then again, with the running rich thing, Im thinking a haltech + tune would fix that.. Im going to get a 100,000k service done first before I put the haltech in. Then thats my power mods done! I will be happy with that...

Keep forgetting about this thread.
Did we do the headlights back last year at the late bonfire?
Why are they blue again, or have I missed a post..
