Oh you dont get your letter until you pay your fine so you might want to pay it quickly if you want to get it over and done with, otherwise leave it till the last day.
A black license what the heck?????????????

Sublime, use the link below to check your points:
http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/myrta/myrecor ... ml?llid=14
See what that says. Now, here's the dodgy thing. You can postpone your points being removed, as they do NOT get removed until you have paid the fine. If you are close to getting your full licence, then try to wait it out.
If you can't, then I just checked and P platers are excluded from the black licence scheme.

Its also called a work licence.
Also, just from browsing around the RTA site, heres the info you're probably after most:
For provisional licence holders, the automatic suspension period is three months.
So, if you're going to get suspended, try to make it work for you the best, so if you have uni holidays coming up, start it then so you don't have to use the car as much. Bad luck dude, coming from myself who has sped their entire driving life this is an sad blow for people who do the right thing.

thanks man.. yea i realised if i dont pay the fine i wont get my license suspended just yet
But I rather get it over and done with.. but I heard double demerit weekend is also double suspension.. so 6 months?? farrrkkk...
EDIT: I just checked that link, and it doesnt mention any demerit points being taken away from saturday night.. maybe it's just not recorded yet, or it wont get recorded till I pay the fine

I don't think it's instant that thing, it takes ages. Points won't come off until fine is paid. You can wait until they write to you again before paying it too. Then they'll write to you again to advise you of when your license is suspeneded and when you are allowed to drive again.

damn, and i got my hopes up lol.. yea i've done that before, not paid parking tickets and they send me a letter so i spose i can delay it by 2-3 months, but i spose the sooner i get it over and done with the better, that way i can stop worrying abt it. i think ill just pay the fine and see what happens

I had a possibly saving thought, if you pay the fine after the double demerits week, does it go back to normal points or does the system take into account the date of the fine?

My points came off the next working day, which confuses me over whether or not im alowed to drive or not as i still havent paid the fine either.
But i agree id rather just get my 3months over and done with

do they offer you the choice of 3month license suspension or 1 yr good behaviour (meaning u get 1 point for the whole year), like they do here in qld?
cos if they do then u can just go for that since u drive like a granny anyway right?
anyways thats just my 2c.
(btw sry if someone already mentioned this, but i'm at work and ran out of time after reading most of the 1st page

)

arrhh, ok, it applies to P platers here.
have u thought about getting your license in another state?

(that was suggested to me when i was done for speeding... on that cruise) apparently that still works.
btw your situation further proves my theory of:
when ppl drive like dikheads they get away with so much, but it's always the ones that dont normally speed/drive like an albino black sheep on fire always get caught on that one time that they decide to speed/end up speeding.
good luck with it all

No but it also depends on the situation and signage. Joel are you digging out one of the questions from the Learner book?
