Just out of interest, have you checked to see if your fuse box (in the cabin) is a little damp when it rains. It might be the motor, but I would have said that it was more likely a wiring issue.
I do have these parts, but if I were you, I would be wanting to work out exactly what it was before I started replacing anything. Ring around a few auto electricians and ask them if they have any ideas.
