Don't the MIVEC and NON-MIVEC have the same bottom end, and the MIVEC only rev like 500rpm more than the NON-MIVEC.
I don't see why the MIVEC engine would spin a big end bearing more than the NON-MIVEC.

To bad when i lined up a Non-Mivec FTO looking exactly the same as mine. He was a GR. I am a GP vR We were together the whole time untill Mivec Opened Up on mine and i pulled in front by half a car. same thing happened in 2nd Gear kept up till 5-6000rpm then left him when we were in 4th gear i was 1 or 2 car lengths in front of a GR.
So what was that bout Mivec guy's ? ahahah i do see a difference.
Everyone's different but i have to admit ive relised why its Better off having Mivec then a Non-Mivec.

I like see you to take on GAV and Bennoz GR.
There are heaps of MIVEC killer GR out there, and there are lots of proper driver who knows what they car do with a GR too. So i would watch out if i was you.
Remember a stickers or a badge don't makes you a better driver.

Yes i understand that guy's.
And yes i had my windows down this time hehe.
And Once again Yes! that is true a badge or sticker does not tell all. I really wasnt intending to say that.
Off course Gav or Ben's GR's will munch me cos there worked.
Like you said it isnt always up to the car its all about the driver.
Same cars could have a Huge Differents in winning.

Yes the bottom ends are the same, but as you probably know the heads are different. Its suspected that when a MIVEC is being flogged hard, the draw on the oil to lubricate all the extra gear in the heads causes starvation at the bottom end.

One thing I was wondering about, does'nt mivec affect both inlet and exhaust valves ?
Correct me If i am wrong.

The one in the FTO is only inlet.

thats intresting....feeling justified in my 5W30 choice suddenly...Although recent oil anlysis didn't show much signs of engine wear which would be evident if this was occuring in a seriosus way.

Yep if it is happening you'll start seeing the oil has a 'bronzy' tinge to it. Thats the crank bearing shells starting to disintegrate.

better yet the oil analysis test for all types of metals...its pretty easy to see wear of most parts straight away hence why i think its a good aid for $30 a pop.

VTEC YO!!!!! has two settings for the intake and the exhaust valves. MIVEC only advances the intake timing.
