yeah i probably will actually, remember a qld member used to do powder coating... the guy with the red rims remember him? pitty he's no longer on here and also no longer at his old job

muahahahhaha i think my mate does powder coating for Rims. i know he can do body kits for me i just need to sand them down and just have them ready to paint i will check if his happy to help use out as well.

I'm sure I've seen an ad somewhere for a company that specialises in powder coating car parts in Brisbane, Ill see if I can dig it up

im from the UK ftooc, and have polished my own manifold see pic below, before you start be prepared for a lot of hard work as it can be a pig of a job made easier if you buy this

EBAY LINKY which is what i used.

start with 800grit wet and dry and work your way throug to 1200grit (remember the more effort you put in at this stage the better the results will be. i used grinding stone to remove cast marks on edges and stuff. once your happy that the surface is nice and smooth its now time to use above kit from ebay either with drill of better with bench grinder as it makes it a lot easier i would suggest splitting your manifold into its 3 parts to make things easier and allows you the opportunity to give it a good cleaning and remove all the oil and gunk inside the kit above comes with full instructions start with coarse polishing soap and wheel and work through them till you use the final polishing soap and soft wheel liberally polish with belgom ally (polish) or similar and i got the below results i replaced all the OE bolts with Purple Alu ones as it looks loads better

thanks guys got the bolts from this place here in the uk http://www.bsr-aerotek.com/store/ they normally do bike bolts but if you know the sizes you can order them ive sen them on ebay too

Interesting - never realised there was a firm 3 doors down from where i live that specialise in Polishing and Electro-Plating. Might have to go have a wee chat methinks.

You did a Very good job!, although you did it harder way, I polish car parts for a living,

if you have a decent sized bench grinder you will be able to pull 240grit sand marks and cast marks from the manifold, I normally sand the whole manifold down with Velcro Disk (Approx 120grit) , sand it back with a 240grit orbital sanding pad, horse hair mop with Grey Rouge, Light hand sand with 400grit, Semi Finish Mop with Orange rouge and final Finishing mop with Green Rouge(Chrome Gold)

if anyone wants to know some tips, PM me and ill answer them,

is it possible to get good results just by working your way through sandpapers and then giving it a polish?

coz i was planning on doing it by hand but need my car every day so it can't be one of those 3 week type of jobs?

What can everyone recommend

If your going to do it by hand prepare to be working on it for a couple of days, you can just go thorugh the sand paper, easier using power tools on it
