So you want a hairdryer on your FTO? Or do you already have a hairdryer in it? This is the section for it. All other big power projects & forced induction goes here too.
Okay... I'll put my name down for info
FTOSam: MIVEC Turbo / Non-Mivec Forged Turbo
As far as compression, i think it has a lot to do with the condition of the engine...
I ran 5psi for only about 3 months before my engine gave up (135,000kms)... Piston rings gave way due to compression (FACT)...
I'd say 5psi is okay for daily use on a good cond engine... but recommend a bit more boost (7psi or so) on a freshened up engine with a decomp gasket....

What is the best material (as in tubing, hose etc) to make an oil return line? And what are your reasons behind that?
This thread may well become the "go here and read before asking turbo questions" post I like it!
I was thinking about it last night and was actually thinking something like those metal brake lines would be best (bigger diameter of course) so that there is no chance of rupturing.

Oh, and I think I posted before, but my 6A13 is stock with stock TD03's, VR4 fuel pump and VR4 computer, running 13 psi. Hit fuel cut at 13.7, backed it down to 13.6 but still got a little creep at top end in 3rd, so backed it down to the nearest whole number. 2 years at that pressure
For my 6a12T
I have a braided hose feed to the turbo (diamater not huge) which is fed from the oil pressure sensor.
The return is gravity fed,
And is made up of 12mm braided hose for best retun.
9PSI on a 6a12 your getting almost 320BHP??
Well impressed!
8.5:1 CR...
Custom made Cams help... as does a brand new blueprinted, borred out, honed, and balanced engine... Good Microtech ECU and a big fuel pump, braided fuel lines etc... 350cc injectors are stopping me from taking it further..
As far as oil lines.... braided all the way... cant go wrong with a braided line (even my clutch line is braided...)

Boost: Im only running 5psi at the moment because i need to upgrade fuel pump and fuell pressure reg, which will be the same one as ben's.
Oil lines: Braided as well, from memory its round the 12mm ID mark, But it should match whatever the size of the hole is out of the bottom of the turbo. That goes for the oil feed line as well, from memory thats 4mm but will vary depending on the turbo. B/B turbo's dont need as much oil therefore have a restrictoron the inlet side.
I personally wouldnt do anything but braided.... We are talking about an oil line. If that splits it could mean all over red rover.

I have the emanage ultimate, i think its a great cost effective piggy back for low boost applications. I wouldnt use it though, if i was going over, say 12-13psi maybe even a little lower.
Anything over that i would be seriously considering what benny is running. My tuner recommended that to me if i want to run pound, but hey is just trying to make a sale. lol

Why? Is a well known brand... has good value for money for a stand alone system.... Can handle boost levels for a mild system and for a crazy system...
