Sorry to revive yet another ancient thread.
I replaced my gearbox last week and replaced the rear main seal at the time. Now I've got an oil leak

, seems to be a few drops after every drive. I tightened a few loose sump bolts (don't ask me how they got loose cause i have no idea) and still i have a leak.
Ive degreased and pressure cleaned the block so I know its not coming from anywhere else higher.
I removed the rear main seal plate to install the new seal, and i put sealant on the bottom to reconnect to the sump but i'm not sure if this is sufficient.
Upon inspection there is no oil around the sump where it meets the rear main seal plate area, it seems to be in the same corner of the sump as the sump bolt (its not the sump bolt

). Once it leaks it runs around the sump seal in that corner, no evidence of oil on the other side of the pan or near the gearbox end of the sump. All the sump connecting bolts in that corner are drenched in oil but all the other bolts are clean.
Is it a common issue on the FTO for the sump seal to leak?
Replacing the seal is no issue, I'm just curious if this is common after rear main seal replacements.
Another thought is those loose bolts have broken the seal in that area, new seal will be the test i think.
(sorry for the long spill but I'd rather explain it once and full the first time to get accurate reposes instead of 2 pages of back and forth explanations)
