Re: Roof needed

Post by dstocks »

Fair comment, however, that'd only be with equal or better driver.
That goes without saying
The rear end may not be as sophisticated as the FTO, but you'd be surprised what it's like on twisties.
But still not as good as an FTO. Sorry Dan, know you are a fan (and im OK with that) but lets face it, older technology, heavier, higher centre of gravity, not designed as a sportscar, about as aerodynamic as a brick. Must I go on...... I can say that youd be surprised at how the Triton Ute goes around a corner (and thats a fair statement in its own right), but compare that to the FTO and the FTO craps all over it. I just cant let you get away with that comment :P

    I wouldn't say I'm a fan personally.
Just had the car for a very long time, and have done some things not normally expected with them.

Simply a case of finishing it and getting it and the FTO on a track.
Same driver, same conditions, see which comes out in front.

Meanwhile, this all came about from Obsidian, my comment was about Kustoms and having Magnas with comming roof replacements... definitely not the norm.

I'm just saying, from having driven both rather extensively, I still feel I could do more with the wagon than the FTO.

If I was to compare my old RVR to the FTO, then yeah, straight line the RVR hands down, but show some corners and the FTO is gone.
(I still had fun with the RVR meanwhile, even hauling lawso's crap  )

But ehh, as said, no hard evidence, so all here-say.

If you want to rag on a car I really am a fan of, then gotta go back in time baby! 8)

Got nothing against them actually. Parents owned that model at one stage. Havent owned that model myself, but have owned several more recent models (including a 2002 VRX which I was fairly impressed with). I just wanted to stir you up...... Have to say though, FTO would easily out - corner the VRX (although the VRX would out accellerate a stock FTO)

Yeah, but the later models are far more heavier and less balanced, more front heavy.

As stock Magna of any age, agree, FTO wins on a track.
But I still think my wagon could win, simply due to what I've done with it. ;)

Try and stir me up. pfft.
