But back to the task at hand. Reset your ECU and take it for a few drives to let it learn to idle again. If not then stepper is rooted.

I find it funny that people have to get their cars to learn how to idle yet I can disconnect my battery for several months and it idles the same as it always have

Mine has always been the same, never had to let any of my FTOs "learn to idle" but eh.

Every time my battery dies/disconnects I have to let it learn again, it's quite embarrassing when you're sitting at the lights and it dies :/

Disconnect the battery for 10 mins or so.
