well it's his $7K after all, he's free to do whatever he wants with it since it is his car...
but at the end of the day, one begs to ponder - how would you feel if everybody thought of the kit (which you had paid $7K for) was just another cheap copy in the end?? personally i'd be spewing (coz it's like wearing an imitation Armani suit which costs 1/10 of the price) but hey if you think that the fit and finish is worth spending the extra $$$ then that's cool...
just bear in mind that they are fibreglass afterall and yes it WILL CRACK if you're not careful... (unless it's made from polyurethane, which is much more durable)
