Sorry I got my price wrong, $580 for a pair, but still, you guys got them so much cheaper!
This was from beaurepairs at parra, he claimed it was below there wholesale price at the time. I went to buy another set at australias best tyre and auto and they wanted 600+ for two!!!

parra??..they quoted me 400 for both and i thought that was too much...
went to Midas at croydon/five dock and i got them for 380 for the pair...

Yes scarecrow... your tyres are rare...
Well, not rly, but your paying more for your tyres as compared to the other guys because your running a 40 profile tyre as compared to the other guys running 45 profiles on 17s.
Generally, the lower the profile, the more they cost. Wanted 40 profile tyres for mine - for the sporty look, but couldnt justify paying the extra $$
Not to mention they wear out faster too

I feel so bad, I got silverstone tyres on my fto, don't worry I didn't put them on, when it went through complience they changed it to silverstone.
I don't think they are that bad, but they do make a bit of a whining noise on the rear, I thought it was my wheel bearings but it turned out to be that the rear wheels had a lot of camber.

Noob question, how do you check the profile of a type? is the number on the tyre?

yes, its on the tyre - located on the wall.
So its like:
225/45ZR17
The number before the Z is your profile.
R17 stands for your rim size.
First number is your tyre width (correct me if im wrong
)

i know the R17 part & 225 part, what does 45 stand for then?
