H1 Globe plastic adapters in Projector unit.

Could see if you can get some metal H1 adaptors too while you're fixing it. My car came with these metal adapters. The place i got the car from is at botany, called Version One auto imports. Maybe they can sell some for cheap ?

Hey KD, i took it to the auto electric shop today and had a chat to a guy, he has suggested to get in contact with my compliance shop see if they have sorted a fix to the problem. Im gona get onto this tomorrow.

Meanwhile, i asked him, since they have done a retro fit from Xenon to my H1 setup, can i simply just buy a HID kit and do an upgrade.

He asked if there is a certain kit that will fit the FTO (im guessing size of globe? etc?)... but in my circumstance where ive had to remove the entire H1 melted adapter etc.. would a HID fit my car? ive read your sticky on headlights etc.. just looking for any info regarding my particular case with this dam retrofit.

Just fix up the wiring if there was anything wrong with it, then get the metal h1 adapters and buy a h1 hid kit. Adjust the beams and it'll be perfect

messy: I updated the sticky but it's still not really finished.

One of the problems is that the factory HID setup, once it's on, runs at approx 35W. Normal halogen bulbs run at around 50W, the higher wattage generates extra heat, etc which is one reason why they can melt.

With the aftermarket HID kits, you generally fit the same sized halogen bulb you are replacing. Easiest way is to do what Delvance said. Fix up the H1 bulbs, and buy an aftermarket H1 kit.
