Snapped the new bolts when trying again lol almost gave up on life.. Almost.
Got over it, went and bought more. And after a few more attempts only torqued the bolts to 30nm. Got the fucker in.

Re: Gearbox removal and swap help
To fit the drive shafts do I just slot it in and the boot basically hold its on .? Or do they lock in somehow?

Re: Gearbox removal and swap help
There's a snap ring on the driveshafts that "hold" them in.

So it's on the shaft itself? In front of the tri pod cv thing?

I haven't fitted the shafts yet.. I fucked the cv joints when I put them on. I'm just wondering about how the shafts go on.. They tap in yes?

Re: Gearbox removal and swap help
Umm the drive shaft nuts won't screw on, due to the end of the cv joint looking like a mushroom, due to the big hammer I used to smash em on.Sahin wrote:why do you think you fucked them? how so?

Re: Gearbox removal and swap help
But that's not the issue here. I threw them out cos I couldn't stand looking at them reflecting my stupidity . And bought new ones. I just wanted to know about re fitting the shafts to the gearbox

Ok so I sledge hammer the shafts into the gear box lol
I'm only asking because they basically fell out when I removed them, seemed they were only being held in by the boots
