I8A4RE wrote:First off i agree with dave and secondly the emange anti stall feature is only going to do so much. You have to remeber you are doing a massive amount of modifications..... This aint plug and play stuff (like my turbo lol) It is serious tuning here. Good luck
so there is no vacuum due to too much over lap from the camshafts being timed in wrong with the verniers?

so your saying the emanage might not be enough? :'(

if i did go stand alone with the tip, didnt that guy do it in fiji somewhere and all the issue was it was rough cchanging gear in DRIVE but in tip it was fine? if thats the case i might go stand alone... will have to be a haltech as thats all they tune down here pretty much. but see what the emanage can do first.
No the emanage is fine
What i am saying is IF THEY HAVE FUCKED THE SETTING's UP then the emange anti stall can only compensate so much.

ALSO BEN LOOKS TO BE DEAD RIGHT THEY ARE WAY OUT WITH THEIR TIMING THAT IS WAY THERE IS NO VACUUM
they havent tinkered with the tuning yet

ook then so they are being retarded....
except the guy said he tried that cam wheel at the other end of the scale and it made it run worse or something as well...

i need to sus this out tonight cos i dont want to pay for freaking 4 h0urs of work for nothing!

Im NOT talking about ECU tuning.

alrighty this is whats happening.

at the moment the oil and tranny cooler and being hooked up. they are already on the front as they already had a mount on the front from last time. this should be done sometime tomorrow. so then they are on!
now with the cams.
the stock cam gears are on and the engine is running fine and idling and we have vacuum! now we are trying to source the full specs of the cams that should come with every set of cams sold but havent been supplied with this cam. Dave doesnt know either. and apparently the cam company they go through doesnt like giving them out so other people can copy their cam. once we know this we might be able to make some use with the verniers as without that we are in the dark and dont know where to go! but like i said its running fine with the stock cam gears. it hasnt been driven or anything as yet which will be occuring tomorrow hopefully to see how she goes on the road. its really finger biting stuff
i hate having to work till 2 then go and see it it makes my day go so slowly.

i havent heard it running properly with the cams but apparently she sounds good and camy :D

they will only road tune it on friday and get it back to me because not much point doing the full tune without the verniers.

be very interesting to see how much the cams change things!

alrighty so just got her back...

runnning incredible rich *sigh*

u can smell so much unburnt fuel...

having issues with the emanage not communicating with the laptop. wont trace. same issue we had before but its back which is really annoying! so have it for the weekend.

it does sound insane though. at idle it has a low burble and can really hear the cams and cos its so rich it has a ok take off then when it gets up high it really takes off and wants to keep on going!. when your stopped gotta brake with the left foot and have the right foot on the accelerator ready for it in case it goes to stall. but meh its worth it :)

a lot torquier.

has more power than before just....

and this is with it running incredibly rich!

so yeah,. the guy that helped with the ecu was away so he'll be back on monday so itll be in again to tackle with the ecu.

this thing is officially ALIVE!

This reminds me of a guy on the Silvia forums doing up his CA18DET to have a heap of power.
As the SR20 is far more supported, and bang for buck cheaper to mod, he found out the hard way after a lot of $$$ what a waste the project was. (and he did next to all the work himself)

I just do hope that this works out for you, and is glorious in the end!

so the scary thing is that this thing is faster than before...

after driving it around a bit more i discovered this. my friend in her fto was behind me for a bit and all she could smell was petrol and said it stunk! haha

i actually cannot wait to get this tuned.
its not like that silvia guy mate.
thhis machine is awesome.
the faster i go the faster the car wants to go it just doesnt want to give up!

power figures will be very impressive simon. torque line should be pretty decent as well!

as for how much this has cost....
well....

lets just say its not for everyone...

totally forgot to update this...
alrighty.

ive had it back for about a month now.

the cams are in, the emanage is working correctly. finally!
but only with stock cam gears still...

it has only been given a road tune to pull lots of fuel out as it was running rich as all hell.

so no playing with ignition timing or anything.

so how is it to drive?

well lets just say when your driving u gotta hold onto that steering wheel tight! off the line its much better but nothing special as no effort has been made to tune it for acceleration properly. once the car hits 4k rpm it just revs out to the rev limiter soooooo quickly and pulls away so nicely. this thing really has a serious amound of power. in the wet its hard to have the wheels not spinning. even when cruising along then flooring it it gets wheel spin in mivec which is out of this world now. so much better than before. around corners its really at its prime. pulling out of a corner is just so much fun now. it sounds amazing i really must make a video of how it sounds, havent tried a 0-100 yet nor has it been on a dyno. but a new garage is opening up next month and holding a dyno night so i might have to attend cos i really want to see what figures its got with just a road tune and no vernier gears.

ummm what else we want to know? im not doing anything else to it apart this year from the samco hoses from bennoz.
might have it properly tuned next year withh the verniers... would putting the verniers in really be worth it?

oh aand heres an update of how my car looks :)

Image

nice view of the coolers

this was with my mate in the gto and a random guy in the mazda. this was before 110 other cars rocked up for a massive cruise called hobarts modified mayhem. I was the only fto there haha

Some nice ass
