Got the invoice
I guess I'm doing the banking then..Do I need to convert a price to AUD/ NZD for each of you or can you send me money in USD?
They also said local import taxes are our own responsibility so, people who know this stuff, is there an import tax in Aus? If so what would it be..I'll split that in the price including the fee to send the money over.
Will PM once I know.Sorry bout all the questions haha.
For insurance, if anything goes wrong they said to send pics of any damage and they'll compensate you. Sounds alright.

Holy sh*t...I think I found it...customs website says it's free for goods assessed to be under $1000...but if over $1000 they assess it and charge us then.
Okay never mind, we'll deal with it when we get to it.
I'll do pm's.

Quoted from Australian Customs
Imported goods valued at or below A$1000
Generally, there is no requirement to pay duty and Goods and Services Tax (GST) on imported goods valued at or below A$1000, except for alcohol (refer to Example 2 where Wine Equalisation Tax (WET) is also payable) and/or tobacco products (refer to Example 4).
Imported goods with a value at or below A$1000 that arrive by air or sea cargo will require a self-assessed clearance (SAC) declaration to be lodged with Customs and Border Protection.
There are no Customs and Border Protection charges for making a SAC declaration.
For more information about SAC declarations see the fact sheet Self-assessed Clearance (SAC) Declarations.
Goods with a value at or below A$1000 that arrive by post do not require a SAC declaration.
For more information on goods that arrive in Australia by post click on importing goods by post.
Imported goods with a value above A$1000
If your imported goods arrive in Australia by air cargo, sea cargo or by post and their value is above A$1000, in most cases, you will be required to make an Import Declaration and pay the calculated duty and taxes.
An Import Declaration is a statement made to Customs and Border Protection providing information about imported goods.
There is a Customs and Border Protection import processing charge for making an import declaration. Information on Customs and Border Protection fees and charges is available in Australian Customs Notice 2006/21.
For more information about import declarations see the fact sheet Import Declarations.
Imported goods may also require clearance from Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS). More information on AQIS requirements is available at
www.daff.gov.au/aqis
Example 3:
An importation of goods (other than tobacco products or alcoholic beverages) valued above A$1000
A$
Customs value (Cval) = 2000.00
Customs duty (Duty) @ 5% of Cval = 100.00(Payable)
International transport and insurance or postage (T&I) = 150.00
Value of the Taxable Importation (VoTI) (Cval+Duty+T&I) = 2250.00
Goods and Services Tax (GST) @ 10% of the VoTI = 225.00(Payable)
Total payable Duty + GST = 325.00

Ask them if they can value the goods at less than 1k. Then you get away without paying tax.
It will be a couple hundred (total) on top of the original price.
But if it has insurance and something goes wrong you will only be covered for whatever it was valued at.

That is a really good idea Vectose, I wonder if they would do it...
There's no 'insurance' per se, just a guarantee that they'll turn up good and if not, we get some money from the company to fix the damage..or at least that's how I interpreted it..

So you want to make a fraudulent importation into Australia

To be frank, yes.
I honestly don't think they'll allow it but it can't hurt asking.

To be frank, no (

).
I honestly don't want to do that as it is illegal and you never know who is monitoring the forums.
That's better

Here in NZ we will most likely get hit with tax, but we'll just deal with it when it gets here. We also may not get hit with it...

Meh...I have ordered tons of sh*t from US where the retailer has either marked it down or split the package. I have even imported concentrated liquid nicotine. So it all depends on the seller really.
You have the option to either request the seller to invoice you less than $1000 or split the package (and invoice with it).
The two going to NZ..is that going directly from the seller to NZ? If it is, are they invoiced together with the rest of the order? It shouldn't be..because you are not bringing in those two items into AU, hence prices of those should not be included in the invoice where you will be paying the import tax.

Damn...that is good.
Bit of food for thought there for sure, could make something work then hehe.
It'd be another 140 for another shipment, in all honesty at this point I really cbf getting that arranged.
Already got payments for this anyway, 4 people down, 4 to go.
Take your time...I need my money this week for NIN/QOTSA tickets haha..
