I thought it was just common for FTO's with Veilside front bars to drive like that?Sahin wrote:Accidentally drove off with the handbrake on (mum)

the vailside front bar creates lift when mivec kicks in there fore lifting the front wheels off the ground resulting in never getting traction-Nighthawk- wrote:I thought it was just common for FTO's with Veilside front bars to drive like that?Sahin wrote:Accidentally drove off with the handbrake on (mum)

Was applying Armor All to the panels when I realized my shifter knob doesn't have any markings
Recommend any good website to pick up a good looking one which fits instead of rotating 360*?

Also over the last couple days, on the 323 we replaced leads and sparks, flushed and replaced both coolant and oil, did all filters and auto transmission fluid, got a few old stickers off and also fixed a rocker cover gasket leak, now its pretty much right to be handed over to the missus when I get a steering wheel for it
All with the help of lawso and some help with the distributor and leads/sparks from fraz

Re: What work did you do on your car today?
My day consisted of:
- Attempting to replace alternator, turns out the bolt on the alternator pulley was too tight to loosen the belt. Spent 4 hours attempting to get that to work.
- Started to replace the rear shocks. The spring compressors I have are horrible that they kept moving when I tried to compress the springs. so no luck there. Have to go to SCA and fork out $60 to get ones that actually work.
I have the worst luck with these cars :\

Oh! We also fixed a little coolant hose that was leaking. Cut it off before the point that was torn and just moved it up slightly.

Did you try and undo the alternator pulley or the tensioner pulley? Lol-Nighthawk- wrote:My day consisted of:

We have just the cheap ones from SCA, I think they were about 60ish, they did the job, replaced all 4 springs on Nick's FTO with no problems

Re: What work did you do on your car today?
FINALLY got the new shocks and springs fitted. Here's some photos of the car afterwards:

Also fitted the sticker I got off eBay, actually looks quite good. It's not a 100% fit, but around 95% there.

No luck on changing the alternator over still, the bolt is too tight. I might just go to a mechanic next year when I have more funds and get the alternator, fuel filter and a few things replaced.

Not bad
I've also got an insert in the rear of my FTO.
I love it, it kinda gives it a bit of personality.
