How much is shipping??

I cant stand buying parts online! I have had my FTO for so long and only once I bought a set of lifters from Kempys in NZ.

But I would rather buy here and get it strait away and usually its the same price here!

Not once I have bought from camskill and I've bought a heap of crap here which other FTO owners dont even know are sold here. I can get lifters, Magnecor leads, cv joints, gaskets, everything locally on the day or overnighted without paying freight.

Example above say 2 x rocker cover sets and 6 x plugs.

2 x rocker cover sets is roughly $140.00. So 6 plugs total $15 each.

So he goes to rock auto gets his iridiums for $8.00 each which equates to $48 and he has to pay a minimum of $25.00 shipping and has to wait 2 weeks to get it. Or he can upgrade to express 3 days for $50.00 which equates to $90.00 to get six plugs.

You see why I think online is a waste of time? Double the cost of shipping if you include rocker covers.

Guess you need to know where to look and how to approach it.

I'm with you payaya, I like getting my stuff straight away, as opposed to paying for shipping. I usually look at the money spent on shipping as "wastage", as I can usually find the same product here in Australia and at least support a local business etc.

Considering others told me I'd be spending in excess of $400 for this fix, I'm perfectly happy with what I paid!

Heh, I wish I could get stuff locally :(
Only parts we share with common cars can I get locally.
And to try and get stuff from within the country, well.. If I get it within the south island it's cheaper, but I may as well buy international instead of from the North Island...

The FTO was an official import in your country. From what I see you guys in NZ have access to a lot more parts for the FTO than we do!

Its because people don't know where to look. EG FTO lifters are sold via meek and online via ebay. You can go to bursons and get the lifters ordered in and get them the same day and they are cheaper than what you can get at Meek, Camskill and on ebay. At bursons you dont even have to buy a set you can buy whatever you want!

Oil, oil filter, fuel filter(again), long story... Fitted a tensioner pulley. Cleaned my K&N, washed and polished. Ordered my rocker cover gaskets and manifold gasket. Tomorrow I'm going to order my cv joints, plugs and leads.
