Aww! Boat vs boat? Hope nothing serious on your arm.

Yeah, a gpx tip w/ turbo and still revs over 8k rpm is totally awesome~
Can feel it pulls pretty hard.

Here you can see the boost and vacuum gauges. First running at 7psi and then you here a beep at 37 seconds which is me upping the boost to 10psi.

At 56 seconds, see how quickly the CRV goes backwards :-)

haha, at 0.39 sec on the left side where there's a pull in section, me and the newly married wife spent a good hour of our return trip from our honeymoon when the radiator blew on the rvr.

On topic, jealous.
Might have to get my wagon back on the road soon.

So we're driving just about 5 minutes around the corner from my place and pull over to nip into the shops. Mrs AJ notices some smoke coming out of the engine at the top passenger side. I open the bonnet and there does seem to be smoke coming from the turbo area. I think it's because it's not been driven for a week. I call Bennoz to see what he thinks but no answer :? so I decide to carry on.

Heading out towards the Hills area and the petrol needle is moving down a lot quicker than normal (it moves quite quick most of the time but this was sitting in traffic and going down!)

There is a strong petrol smell but I push on. At the next set of lights I turn to the missus and say "Can you smell petrol?"
"Yes."
- the car dies 8O
I get out, pop the bonnet and see quite a bit of smoke and liquid pouring onto the road. I quick sniff and it's confirmed, that it's fuel!

Out come the his and hers extinguishers just in case.

No fire, thank God! 2 minutes later, a tow truck pulls up!

$110 to take me to CRD (Croydon Racing Developments) who did all the work. They will look at it on Monday...

sad to hear mate :(

Just out of curiosity, when Mrs AJ noticed it smoke up first, was it an option to stop driving it until you knew it was safe to drive again? Smoke from the turbo would of set alarm bells off in my mind :?

She noticed the smoke when we stopped at the shops and got out.

I'm hoping that it's just a split or loose hose.

'S ok mate. Yeah, hope it's not too bad. I couldn't see anything outrageous looking under the bonnet but you all know how bad my technical/mechanical knowledge stretches.

Would a haltec work for mine?

Sure would, but you're gonna find your wiring will be probably be a nightmare. Ie to remove all the old HKS gear, rewire in a Haltech.... its gonna take some time (and coin.)

Does your car have a stock ECU somewhere in it? Dunno if I'd go a Interceptor (piggyback off the stock ECU) might be better with a standalone like the Platinum Sport....

Ask the kids at CRD what they reckon. I might be able to get you a Haltech at trade....

Would the Plat sport handle the gear box too though or is that something else all together? Someone (not that reliable) told me that I couldn't get a full stand alone computer because it couldn't control the gear box.

Not sure if it still has the standard ECU although I'd have to guess that it does. I'll get CRD to confirm.
