What can i do with a drill??
Thats about my only power tool at the moment.

Stupid question but does sandpaper actually work on metal like that? Those pics I could have sworn were originally from some guy who was offering to acid tip the manifolds for them to come out like that some time ago.

What about the rocker cover? (It is called the rocker cover isn't it? The metal section under the plastic mivec cover?) How easy would that be to whip off and polish at the same time?

its actually easir than the manifold :D i bought a spare one to polish as i use my fto daily and this means you can take your time if you like too

So just take the coil packs off, then the bolts, and be careful with the gasket then? Can't be that simple... :o

EDIT (after some research): Coil Packs, then 9 bolts. Apparently the metal on the rocker cover is a lot easier to polish than the intake manifold too. Cool.

A form of sand blasting like soda blasting could take off all the roughness. But been about 6 years since i've blasted and would have to check into it

Most electroplaters offer a polishing service (as many items that are to be chromed required polishing to prepare the surface.)

Just do a yellow pages search on 'electroplating' in your area.

I use Junction Plating at Artarmon, great results.

yah!! another thing i found out.. most electroplating companies will only polish your bits and peices!! why u ask? because its alloy!! and if chrome dipped it warps..and cracks :(
i got quoted 150 bucks from a place over in lawnton just for my rocker cover.. so prolly round 250+ for the intake manifold
