Went to the panel shop today ..

Front bar only has a couple of scratches, so will be retained and painted...

No real damage done to the c/f hood.. Just chips taken out of the clear coat near the front, where it meets the front bar ... It also came apart from the fibre glass, just at the front also ... There was one small crack in the c/f near the large front vent ...

Would be lucky to have been doning 5k's for the hit .. The damage to the car was her spare wheel, which was resting on the hood ... She had a CRV, so yeah, there would have been bugger all done to her car ...

Not sure how well photo's would show the damage as there really is not much .. But will try to get some for you all ..

Also, got a case number off DOCS, but doubt they will do anything unless there has been other complaints... So yeah, will see...

Yeah, with the violent force she had to slam on the brakes to make me hit her, I really am curious as to any damage that may have been done to the kids... Especially if they were not expecting it ...

Not to mention the example she was setting .. Grr.. You need a licence to drive a car, but they will let any idiot be a parent ... 8O

Yeah, I was picturing something a little worse. Im suprised the hood didnt crack in half. It did seem to crumble a little at the front which is understandable cos cf is fairly brittle.

What will the insurance work include craig?

Insurance is just for the new hood and spray of the front bar ... So yeah, don't need a new bar as none of the mounts or anything is broken ... So that was pretty lucky .. Don't think it has done any panel damage either, but would say the front may need to be attacked with a slide hammer or something to make sure it all lines up again ...

So yeah, not as bad as I thought it would be either.. Only reason the c/f split so much is that is where the spare wheel of the CRV was sitting when we were stopped... If it had of been a normal car, it would have just scuffed the bar ...
