My car wasn't "ear spiltting" loud as Ben put it on the wisemans cruise. Have a look at the youtube vid that J posted up in the NSW section

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCiDnWlG3xU

The noise isnt deep. Its raspy as f**k and loud as a Japanese AV idol. And it pops on the overrun...lol at the mountain sections. 8O

For comparison, this is when I had my Fujitsubo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zyv08cgEl_I

And when I just got my N1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvvTR0j4kEc

If you are ever near Parramatta let me know. Id be more than happy to let you hear the exhaust.

EDIT: just realised you have commented on these. Never mind. And btw the N1 vid was recorded on the day installed so yes it hadnt been broken in yet, hence the lack of deep sounds

how can you go over the engine spec's power with just deristricting mods ? unless the actual engine fly power is more than whats on paper. Or maybe the haltec actually increases the engine power..

--> Bushido, id love to hear your car in person, ill cruise down to parra when i can, wont be till mid this month though.. busy busy.. ill look at the vids when i get home from work!

Any mods like CAI, ECU and exhaust ETC free up the flow of the motor the ECU's will change to air/fuel ratios as well as timing etc to free up the ponies.

Oh and I think AZA has had his heads ported/polished and deck shaved ;) (on his motor that is)

I had a nice deep sound when i did high flow chamber muffler and high flow cat, with mandrel piping axle back. Be prepared to pay if you want a nice high flow chamber muffler though.

To this day, i still haven't heard another fto with the same exhaust note i had. And only a few i've heard, do i prefer to over what my fto had.

I recommend best mufflers, best in sydney. Makes dodgy exhaust shop owners jaws drop when you mention the place/work heh.

ok, so i dno if my guess is right, but do resonators influence the tone - if its raspy, throaty, or deep? i know mufflers mostly influence how loud it is and a little on tone

by aza013
Yes they can, they can make it very raspy pending on the size you use.

resonator help cancel out certain frequencies and tune the sound of the exhaust.

ic, well ill leave that upto the zorst specialist. but the ideal tone i want is from that video on youtube with the black fto with the apexi n1 driving around an industrial area. perfect tone for me

if you want that tone have a large resonator. If you ditch the main resonator it will end up sounding like mine. All popping and raspy which is what you dont want?

i wouldnt mind the poppy but the raspy is really harsh. although i like that rasp spike when i reach the 2.25krpm mark which my stock system has.

so pretty much, the resonator's job is to cancel out the high end frequencies huh.
