what i meant was i have seen your car's pics before and and i can put those pics up instead, so there's no need for you to send it to me... but if you insist on a different shot, then by all means send them to me...

btw my FTP server is going through some weekend maintenance, so it looks like your pics won't be ready until tonight... sorry!

i never took any pic of your car... only the ones from Geoff Risbey. I got your photos via email, but it looks like i'll have to resize them coz they're too large. I'll send you the URL to link to tonight (if my FTP server is back online)

Hey guys.. I was going to post some pics of my Silver GR, but on friday, a guy caught the front bumper with his ball bars and smashed it up good. Its off to the panel beaters tomorrow

02NV, can you host some pics of the damage?

Pretty standard I think, expect for an HKS performance exhaust (not mine, so don't know much about it) and a Sony CD and pioneer 6x9s (I did that, although nearly cut my finger in half with a stanley knife while trimming plastic off the rear parcel tray..)

Hey so who can give me a run down on what i need to do to lower the sucker?

Do i just need springs?
Do i need new shocks too?

depends how much you wanna lower it... you can just use lowered springs but any more than -2" up front and -1" at the back and you'll probably need upgraded shocks as well to cope or your car will 'bottom-out', so to speak...

hope that helps...

btw, what did u use to color the parts in your engine bay?

Cheers. thanks for the info.. Suggest any brands? models? As i said am new to all of this :)

Paint wise - it was there when i purchased it - but looks like standard fire-engine red paint - brushed on.

He also painted the brake calipers, which look quite good.

You have to start with the ride height you want first, doing just springs is fine as long as you don't go too low (say more than 1.5") you need to put in uprated springs so that your shocks dont bottom out (ive heard of springs popping out on the roads too), the beauty about dampen adjustable shocks is the ability to tune it optimally for the springs you have on, and keep them in check. I am not too technical on it, its best to talk to a GOOD suspension specialist.

You can stick with local brands like King Springs, Whiteline, KMAC etc or go with Japanese brands like Apexi, KYB, Tein, kg/mm etc..

I have on Apexi (these are cold wound) springs and KYB adjustable shocks and the ride height is just what I wanted (-40mm front, -15mm back, being a bit on the conservative side) and handling is superb without sacrificing too much ride comfort. I never have problems with speed humps and driveways still, but i dont have any body kit on mine.

If you check out the parts for sale forum, I have more info there.

*EDIT*
Oh, and it's advisable to start a new thread for a question like this, actually there is existing threads as well on this topic.
