Ok, so my instrument panel backlights stopped working last week and decided pulled the instrument panel out to check the plugs on the back. Found wiring had been modified with extra wires, so I start to think, maybe there was a faulty earth previously, hence the extra wiring.

Traced the extra wires and found that it went to the "volume knob" that sat just below the dash which I intiallly thought was for an ICE setup that was removed. Check out how the wiring was joined! I pulled that F#(&er out to prevent a future electrical fire! Dunno how it has lasted this long.

Lol, yeah that's dodgy. Was probably a dash dimmer nob. Just joint the wires & hope for no fires \o/

Yeah mate. Not suprised at all I found this dodgy hook-up considering that I changed the o2 sensor two weeks back and found that the old one was unplugged in the process. Didn't even trigger any error codes or engine check light.

That one still has me baffled.

Played with the Swift... And sussed out the Evo/GSR hubs and discs..

Wired up the aftermarket fog lights, but actually used 90% of the stock wiring. Only needed to use the kit wiring from fog lights to trigger switch in engine bay.

Had to splice a wire under dash though, to bypass the need for stock fuse and relay..

Slight difference between the FTO hubs and the Lancer ones. So will take a bit more sussing out. On the positive side, the GTO 4 pot calipers with my adaptor bracket looks to fit nicely. Just gotta find a 324mm disc .. If I can make 5 stud work, I will use 350z discs.. If not, gonna have to find a 324mm disc in 4x114.3..

Hardly touched my car, drove my parent's car down to invercargil (2 hours or so) with some mates to pick up a new car for one of them.
Sold his 2001 WRX STI and purchased a 1996 Toyota Carina ED GT, bit of a downgrade...
Still a very tody car though :)
