The floor plan looks great provided you didn't modify the kitchen/living area proximity and kept them orientated towards the sun, it uses what we call a 'passive solar' design in construction. Very nice indeed

Ok well we have had delay after delay after delay. If it hasnt been the bank, its been the builder. If it hasnt been the builder its been the council.
But we are finally signing the mortgage documents today and tomorrow we should have a start date. Woohhoo
Now here is the original plans
But we have done some extensive modifications (suprise, suprise, I just cant leave anything alone lol)
and it ended up like this
We completely remodelled the ensuite and brought the kitchen back to allow a few different things. Firstly we able to make a hallway so that the entrance to the garage was not through the already small office. We converted the extra space to a linen cupboard but more importantly make a huge walk in butler pantry (well thats what metricon call it lol). We also changed all the doors and kitchen window to Bi-folds to really open the house up.
Ok now for some g33k talk. I want to wire the house up so that in the future I can add things easily. However I have no idea on what. I am going to wire roof speakers throughout the house and some HDMI cables for home thearter.
So I want to know what you guys would run if you could run what ever you wanted and what it would be used for.

Run Cat 6 network cable mate. I covered my place in it, all terminating into a patch panel in the office.
Every room has at least one outlet, larger rooms more. That way you can have all your PCs talking + playstation
+ xbox + voip + wifi etc. That way you don't have to rely on dodgy wireless routers.
Then as far as sound goes, I just use little media PCs hooked up to TV's & local speakers.
The PC's can then access all the MP3s and movies stored on the server in the office.
The only place I ran speaker cabling (thick dual copper terminating at the walls) was in the lounge room.
The flatscreen is connected to the media PC and amp, the amp then goes into a switch which selects
either the outdoor or indoor (or both) speakers which are cabled to the walls via RCA connections.
