the turbos u are talking about are internally gated anyway...for such small rating they must be...

just did some reaserch and the gt17 at 4 psi will have a choke line at around 150 fly wheel hp, i wouldnt even recomend this turbo for a 1 litre 3 cyl charad,

just trying to help you out as u may get through this and make less power then when u started if u put a turbo like this on. and it costs a bit to change turbos down the track

To be honest if you cant afford to t/charge your car properly then dont start because you'll probably find yourself trying to cut a lot of corners along the way and end up damaging something. Save a bit then do it.

Everything FNTSY said is true...just because you might be able to get away with something for a time...ie. running no intercooler doesnt mean its a good thing. You would have to retard timing so much that you would lose power and even so it will have a much shorter life span.

My car only sees stoich at idle after that its in 13z till boost then 11s on boost. Timing retards to -5 at some points but advanced a couple degrees pre-boost. Thats at 5psi.

Yeah i forgot how crappy the standard air/fuel gauges are. I have in an AEM UEGO gauge and it works great.

TD04L is a small turbo off the rex...from memory.

personally would'nt have the T25h as you can get a T28 cheaper and holds boost better and can take more boost generally from what I have been told.

the t25 will spool faster and is probbaly just fine for your applciation as low boost...

ok fukn hell.. just a quick question.

how much would EVERYTHING cost all together including a turbo?

i know u'd have to get a new clutch, and no doubt a new gearbox(please confirm)
would have to upgrade to 4pot calipers, new ecu, so including all that, wats the price you'd be lookin at, just curious.

hasn't this been discussed a million times? I think the general consensus is anywhere between 8-20 grand depending on who does the work, new and second hand parts, how much power you want to generate etc.

You do not need a new gearbox - brakes I imagine only need upgrading if you are running it off high boost - but would probably be advisable either way.

well heres my estimate with 2nd hand and new parts..

1. downpipe = $500
2. turbo manifold = $1300
3. T25H or T28 or TD04L TURBO = $200
4. Silicone hoses = $80
5. intercooler = $100
6. universal intercooler pipes = $200
7. oil feed line & return line & vacumm lines = $150
8. blow off valve $100
9. fuel management unit $150
10. Gauages + Pillar Mount $200
11. Battery Relocation Kit $100

$3100 in parts

do you guys think i should use 2" or 2.5" piping for the intercooler piping

keep in mind that i have a tiptronic... it limits space quite abit...

is 2" laggier than 2.5" piping?
