Re: What work did you do on your car today?
pulled every thing out and replaced heater core pipes was a massive job
tomorrow prob attach pipes in engine bay and put more radiator fluid in
then get aircon tested and gassed

Re: What work did you do on your car today?
ill write what he did..
JOb:
Rectify oil leaks at cam carriers and camshaft seals
supply and fit new battery - upgrade to larger battery and fit hold clamp down
supply and fit new CV drive shaft boot
tighten passenger ball joint and suspension
supply and fit new timing belt kit
inspect timing gears and tensioner
fit new belt and adjust to correct tension
Battery hold down : $18.09
2 x position battery terminal : 6 + 6 = $12
boot kit cv : $117
Heavy duty battery : $136
carbon clean : $12
Timing belt kit FTO mivec : $359
2 x seal cyl head genuine : 33 +33 = $66
sealant blue : $15
engine bay degrease/wash : $18
workshop consumables : $7
labour (12 hours at$76 an hour) : 12 x 76 = $916
GST $200 bucks
So that's a total of $2231 with a quote i asked before to be overquoted as he wasnt quite finished when i need to pay.
What does everyone think???

Re: What work did you do on your car today?
well, you've paid him already, so I guess it doesn't matter, but I'd have been expecting more for that kind've money
the only real work he's done is the oil seals & timing belt?
AFAIC, you seem to be overcharged for a few things;
CV Boots should be at most $60 for both i reckon
Timing belt no more than $130-150
workshop consumables? geez..
And you could have saved yourself some money doing the simple stuff;
Battery replacement
Cleaning, engine bay clean
CV Boots.. maybe
A few things he should've done at the same time;
Water pump
Spark plugs
..

Re: What work did you do on your car today?
what you've put up there should only total $1876.09 ??
Also, 12 x $76 is $912 .. maybe he's calculated it wrong on the bill?

Re: What work did you do on your car today?
yes but depends where you get the parts i bought most of my parts from camskill
but didnt buy water pump so he got it from the dealer and it was like $200 plus
you could have saved a lot if you sourced the parts your self but being away im sure you didnt have time and just wanted it done
i also saved by getting my mobile mechanic and paying him cash so no gst was pretty happy he came picked it up and droped it off late that night

Re: What work did you do on your car today?
Did some interior cleaning and did a little bit of headlight sanding for today. Awwrsomez.
PM my mate Ollie, he bought his engine mounts here in Sydney. As for the engine mount being broken, do you notice any noises/clanks from the engine bay while driving? If you are desperate, I have my old engine mounts which are not in great condition, though they look like they can still be used for a few thousand KM's more.
