Installed spacers in the rear & surprisingly they made the wheels fit perfectly. Might just go with 20mm on the front. Whilst doing this, I discovered a random lump on the back of my hand

I also started removing the roof rust. At first I was just going to use the dye grinder to cut out small sections, but the whole piece was too far gone. So I cut one big rectangle out of the back.
The front doesn't look much better, but i haven't attacked that yet.
As you can see. Someone has had the roof patched & resprayed before (poorly)

Removed the front section of rust & primed with rust primer. I've found this tool that crimps the edge of the area of the panel before u weld it. So u can then just place the new panel (cut to size) straight on there & and then weld a proper seam all around it, instead of a few tacks & having to then grind the welds down etc. This will also minimise the amount of filler I'll need to use when re painting. And it'll be more structural then just a few tack welds that can snap off easily, which will be quite easy to do based on the fact I've taken away a lot of the structural integrity of the roof by cutting the subframe in half etc.
It's going to be a tricky job, and I'll need a whole weekend to get it done, so I'm stopping here until I can organise someone to come weld it up for me.

I found these alloy tanks on the side of the road aaaages ago when our area was having a council pickup. Knowing that they will come in handy one day lol and jaan really likes the slam panel I've got on my car, so I told him I'll give it to him (mainly because I'm taking the Megan racing toe and camber arms off his car for mine lol )
So I'm attempting to copy it by cutting out a stencil from one of the alloy tanks.
So far it's coming along pretty good.

I'm gonna have a go at an airbox that will also cover the fuse box. Just because I can. If it looks stupid, I'll just chuck it out.

Sneaky garage shot. Still looks alright for the beginning of a project. Makes me wonder if I'll just end up f**king it up more or fixing it.... Shall we vote?

As least you can take your time. Measure twice cut once as the saying goes.

Just gonna put it out there that you'll need different rims I reckon if you do wanna flare/wide body. Hilarious how you got a pretty big spacer and it just brought it to the guard.

 I know and  I know right haha it was the biggest they had available. I just ordered some for the front.
When I find the right wheels, then I'll workout what I wanna do with the guards

They're basically knock offs, but Koya do custom offsets without the wheels being heinously expensive. Or JDMCONCEPT had a special on Work wheels till the end of the year (probably saw me mention lol)

Bigger tyres, they're only 215s on there. Squeeze some 235s onto it & she'll start handing out the chubbehs ;)
