oK - big ask, but does anyone here have an ARC intake chamber (and not the air box) and if so what are you using as a heat shield.

I have a chamber but currently do not have a heat shield, just wondering if the UAS or other boxes will fit as snuggly as they would with either a standard intake pipe or UAS upgraded intake pipe

I've got an ARC Intake Chamber with an Apexi super flow pod filter.

I've been looking for a ARC box to fit onto it too

Yeah I dont want the ARC airbox..... Want to keep my pod filter and put a heat shield around it, just not sure if the UAS one will fit or I need to get a custom job from someone like topstage

Does the ARC intake fit the stock box? i.e. is it the same length as stock?

The UAS pipe is exactly the same length. I have the UAS pipe with stock box and hi-flo pannel filter in mine.

I assume it will be roughly the same.

The UAS shield will fit for sure...but the hole that is has is the size of the UAS pipe so you ARC intake might be smaller..I think it is so u might need to plug the gap.

Personally....unless u have the pod shieled....piss it off as its a waste of time. The gain u get from better flow is lost cos your sucking up bay heat. To help run 3" duct form the front guard like many of us have done, cheap and simple.

I dont like their shield much but its better than nothing.

good question chris and to be honest i couldnt tell you. Initially I had stock pipe attached to an apexi air filter and then replaced the stock pipe with the ARC intake chamber.

reason I did not get the UAS heat shield as it never looked that good quality to me... having said that i can appreciate its probably better then whats there at the moment (nothing!).


So did you take your uas set up off (e.g. filter and shield) and revert back to just the factory airbox with a new panel filter? How do you get a cold air feed into that???

I take only taken off the Unifilter but kept the UAS intake pipe as its a good design and is much better than stock. I have put the stock box back onto the UAS pipe now...leaving everything else stock.

Instantly I noticed smoother response. Was intresting. I took the 3" pipe off. My performance is roughly the same...

in a NA car...if your dont protect your pod then your just wasting your time, the stock box keeps it sealed and protected.

For better flow, buy an Apexi or K&N pannel filter for not much over $100.

ok cheers mate - I might do the same thing - anyway to get a CAI into the stock box?

so had a look today

took of the apexi pod, and went to fit airbox...

couple of problems,

(1) the airbox pipe and arc pipe are exactly the same size... so cannot slide one inside the other etc... might be safe to just have a silicon joiner here between the 2?
(2) due to HID's etc, clearance was a bit of problem...

ran out of time in the end and just put pod back on.

dont put your pod in. buy a Apexi or K&N panel filter which fits into the stock box.

it will flow good enough at the levels u are talking.

Next step is to feed the stock box better...a few DIY guide about this.

no didnt put the pod on... took it off and tried to fit ARC intake chamber into stock box..... the chamber diameter and box opening diameter where exactly the same width.....

because it didnt fit, took the box back out, and pod back on....
