Hi,

I have a HP DV5000 laptop. NOt the greatest machine built but it does the job.

I installed Windows Vista on it a month or so ago and the laptop doesn't like it very much. When vista installed it stuffed up the recovery drive so now when i try and run it, it comes up with an error.

Is there a way I can restore the Lappie back to factory settings? Is there recovery CD's somewhere or does anyone have them?

Any help is appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

just get yourself a windows cd and reformat. then jump on the hp website and track down the drivers you're missing for it

is it a peripheral specific program? if it's some tool for one of your devices then you'll also find it on the hp website. have a look

Piss Vista off & put XP on... Vista wont be anywhere near useable till next year.

What is the program you need? Chances are I'll be able to get it.

I just want the thing to be back the way it was when I first got it. I can get most programs too.. Any movie (DVD quality - even if not released in australian cinemas) and any album...

I tried using my xp cd last time but some error came up, so i'll have to try again..
