FTO Security

After getting my bike stolen from where I park my car on the weekends ... I noticed the gates broken again.

As such I'm sorta keen on beefing up the security of my car.

I've got a pretty average car alarm but was considering adding maybe a couple of kill switches and maybe a hand grenade that explodes when you steal my car...

Anyway what is actually worth doing to beef up ones security other then hiding a couple of kill switches.

Can't believe the security gate is broken again... a few days after they "fixed" it. Pretty piss poor imho.

When I move to bris perm' I'm going to live somewhere I can control the garage door :P

*sigh*

Be kinda cool if you could get something put in like how stereo's wont work without their correct face plate or even better like some german brand that requires a business card sized card to use... fits in your wallet. Useless without it.

Maybe I'm being paranoid... but yeah. :?

do you have insurance??

ive never really trusted alarms that much they are just a deterrent *spelling* if they want to steal your car then they are going to try even if you have a alarm

Take a note from Gone in 60 seconds.

Put a snake in the car, like they did with the hummer :P

I wouldn't be jumpin' in any car with a damn snake in it

But then again.. after thinking about it. Unless you where trained to handle snakes, you couldn't use your car either.

Maybe check this system out Car Watch

"The CarWatch system instantly reports any triggering of the car alarm PLUS adds battery fail alert, a Personal Alert button and tracking of the vehicle should it be stolen.

Our 24 hour response centre has the ability to remotely shut down the vehicles engine (under Police direction) reducing the need for Police chases. Should you be unfortunate enough to lock your keys in the car, the emergency unlocking feature will have you mobile in no time."

I always fancied one of those keypad jobbies... type in your pin to start the engine. Seen them on a couple of cars before, but the only aftermarket one's I ever found were pretty cheap looking, so kinda gave up.

You have just reminded me to wire up my kill switch though... Thanks!

Yeah I have insurance... but that's not really the point. I want to avoid having to do the whole insurance thing. It's a right royal pain.. that and having to buy another car and get it to where this ones at... that'd piss me right off.

Mates got one of those keypad things, pretty cool but yeah it came standard in his car.

If someone tried to steal the car where I'm living atm I'd allmost put money on them beaching themselves on the driveway... which would be both amusing and a tear jerker.
