G'day all
My horn doesn't allways work. It has somthing to do with the set of contacts that electricaly conects the stering wheel to the loom in the steering column. As i apply slight pressure to the top of the wheel the horn works.
Whats the easiest way to adjust the contacts? Do i remove the wheel to get access to the contacts or is there an easier way to adjust them?

You'll need to pull the wheel off. behind it (mounted on the column) is a spring loaded metal lug - that when working makes contact with the brass plate on the back of the wheel itself. Sounds like the spring on the lug is shot or needs a lube up.

Maybe the plastic frame thing for the horn is busted... that was why mine wasn't working properly ... got a little heavy handed with the horn one day & smashed it into little peices...
had to take the rubber cover off the steering wheel, undo a few screws and take the plastic thing out & scoop all the little fragments out cause my steering wheel was rattling like a babies' toy.
That might not be whats wrong with yours... but taking the steering wheel apart and fiddling with it

Na
Done that, yes it was missing but fixed that with a bit of masonite and double stick taped that to the back of the rubber cover.
I've actualy jerry fixed it by tilting the steering wheel just a smidgion. That will get me past the roadworthy.

check your horn relay, switch it with another relay and test the results.

Let them hit me, then upgrade to Rear Kit when I get it fixed courtesy of my insurance co.
