pulling fto heads off

anybody pulled there heads off to do a head gasket change and replace the heads pictures wood be a good help

Not something I'd be comforatable providing DIY type information on... too many variable, too many things that can be done wrong & be held accountable for.

My second engine is currently in pieces... although My step dad stripped it not me... could ask for photos though if theres anything in particular u want...

if you have the ability to change your timing belt then a head gasket change would be pretty easy.
After the belts off, rocker cover off, head off, send head away to be properly checked, and machined, clean gasket off block, new gasket, new head bolts head on rocker on, timing belt on and your done!
But then, that takes forever.

To remove the head on the mivec engine I'm pretty sure up have to remove the cam holder to get access to the head bolts, I'm not sure if this is the same with the non-mivec engine, I had to remove mine to replace a lifter.
Also you have to seal the cam holder back on and make sure you don't get any liquid gasket in the oil galleries which is like 4mm away where you have to apply the liquid gasket, but this is for the mivec.

hey guys thanks for all the help so far ....pics are a big help...ill explain my problem in a little more detail and why i want to pull the heads off. i was driving along and started to drag my friend in his turbo lancer i beat him in second but then my car died infront of autobarn, it wouldnt crank over then i pulled the spark plugs out then and there and found that they were bent....neways changed them kept driving did a service car was back to normal then boost came in when it felt like it wanted to or when i went over bumps sometimes...and now the car wont boost at all...i did a compression test...results wer fine...but the spark plugs look like water got to them...so im thinking head gasket and that being the reason why i want to change it :O...but my mechanic said it might be my piston rings?? but the test was fine..im a little bit lost...ohh ive got the turbo actuator unplugged so its boosting hard but cant feel a thing hummzzz?? any ways any help will be very gratefull thanks guys

if theres water inside... could be head gasket cracked and water/coolant got into your cylinders

bent spark plug would mean something is majorly wrong with your car. The head would probably have to come off anyway if there is internal damage.
If you have done a compression test and they are fine I highly doubt its your head gaskets. Your car should still run which a blown head gasket.
I reckon you have something majorly wrong with your car.
