Hey all

I'm looking for a premade air induction setup for my GPX. Anyone have any recommendations? I found this one on ebay and just wondering if anyone knows if its dodge or not cos it looks like the best option atm.

120quid (280 Aus bucks then add shipping) is an awful lot for an intake...

Very true. The only other premade setup i have found is the one from UAS, which is more expensive and i did order one but they never shipped it.

I'm not too phased about shipping cos i'm from Tassie so any part i want to get for the car has to be shipped neway.

Its kinda funny how rare FTO's are down here cos some guy tried to convince me that an FTO was a type of magna the other day cos he had never heard of one.

Go to exhaust shop..

Think its 3" pipe... one 90 degree bend and then a 45 degree... will have it sitting perfectly for under $100 usually and flows brilliantly


Attatch to the TB with a silicon pipe joiner and 2 hose clamps

I used this setup for over a year and ran so well... great sound too

yeh that sounds feasible. only problem is i have too many subs and audio rubbish in the boot to fit a battery as well.

Is it very costly/timely to relocate the battery?

and isn't there some sort of breather or sensor that also connects to the intake pipe?

True...That should make it easier...
I just used my existing 4ga power cable.. Joined all the connecters in the engine bay (for +) tgether and then whacked the battery on the other end of the cable (where the amp usually goes).
Then a battery clamp ($15?) to secure it in place or a battery box if you want to be 100% legal with it.

It makes it hell easy for installing amps then lol..



And the crank breather that usually goes on, just whack a mini-filter on it (about $15 from super cheap)

Getting your battery out of the way will also allow for a smoother bend and easier air flow (more HP)

hmmmmm. i'm starting to like that idea already.

Any ideas of the ideal brand of air filter as there are zillions to choose from. K&N maybe? i've heard good things about HKS?

if u dont enclose your pod u wasting your time. I would start there and work backwards.

If you are in the south of the state, speak to Brad at Autocraft.

They should be able to make something and/or re-locate your battery for you.

If you buy the UAS kit, ditch the dodgy heat sheild............

Exactly... Make a box for it.
I made one out of aluminium, windshield relfector and horse rug insulation
Basically just sandwiched the horse rug insulation (its just insulation padding) between two pieces of aluminium, then covered the outside with the sun reflector stuff... worked really well..
Took a while to make up but made a helluva difference.


Also i used a generic $25 filter from super cheap, then switched to a $85 one from K&N. slight difference but the K&N looks better and lasts a lot longer.

I reckon i'll call Autocraft 1st as i'm a 5 minute walk away from them and start with battery relocation, then work on the heat shield and piping.

you can also try ats in liverpool st they do the work on my fto i can recommend them cause they have done me wrong

It seems to spend a lot of time up there these days having different bits and pieces done to it.

Let me know how you go re: heat shield as I have just turfed my UAS air box and am in the process of constructing a good quality sealed alu airbox that can fit my Apexi pod (hence my post about nutserts a while back).

But it would be easier to get those guys to build me one.

Nope,

New brakes are awesome!

Having my air-con looked at again and steering rack bellows replaced this time around.

After my car being stuffed around they have since changed air-con sub contractors but it unfortunately doesn't help me as mine is still under warranty from the previous hopeless bunch.
