Hope I posted in correct section.

My problem is, I have a crack about 3cms long, that has turned into a split, just above the exhaust tip curve in the rear bumper.

It happened, somehow from the canon being pushed up and back, and pushing at the bumper, effectively holding it supported up, and making it crack.

Now I suspect in fixing the exhaust ( canon) position, that the bumper would hopefully reset to its normal position, however the crack will still be noticeable, as the plastic has split.

What is the easiest way to repair this? I can match the paint easily myself, but what's the best way to fill in the gap, and make it look unscaved?

Hehe, now that I've removed all credibility for what I'm about to say ... I would have a go at fibreglassing the inside of the bumper (where you can't see it..) or plastic weld so the split doesn't keep going.. you might just be able to cauterise it with a hot poker or something? and probably use some body filler on the outside, sand back & paint...

Or... you might be better off to take it to a plastic welder & get it done professionally... they might be able to do it without needing to paint ... or minimal painting... at least get a quote & find out what would be involved

yeah, none of those I could do by myself.

done a lot of metal body work in my time, but when it comes to plastic with my other cars, I've replaced the bumpers, since they were only like $80, fully painted, and ready to be bolted on.

might have to look around for a good plastic welder, prob a good idea, get the kit fixed for my other car as well while I'm at it.

fibreglassinbg is really easy. You would have to rough up the inside of the bar first though before applying.

I'm not sure how easy fibreglassing is, never done it myself, but it seems pretty simple from what I've read ... run a google search on it ... plastic welding might be a different story...

You can always give it a go, its not like you're going to make it worse & if things go wrong just take it to a pro to fix it up
