to drain the coolant...

hi, do i need to remove the bumper to take out the plug/hose? and regarding the drain plug, do i need to use sealant when i screw it back?

no, you can access the drain plug without removing the bumper. It should be just under the radiator. From what I remember, it has a rubber seal which doesn't require replacing.

Yep, plastic valve that you just undo to drain from the bottom of the radiator. To get all the fluid out thou, you really need to pull the bottom hose off & run the motor for a second & let the water pump push out the remainder thats in all the galleries of the block, head & heater etc. Just dont run it for more than a few seconds or you'll run the risk of seizing the pump.

I'm sure what Ben has suggested would be easier.
But has anyone tried doing this via the bung in the block instead. WHen I tried to do it I couldn't locate it. Ended up getting my mechanic to do it.
